If that also sounds like a bit of you, I recommend you get yourself down to Marshall on Tomales Bay pronto. Shared picnic tables are laid out haphazardly by the water where you can order raw or BBQ oysters at the Boat Bar, as well as indulging in some Cow Girl Creamery cheese and a glass or 3 of ice cold white wine. Everyone here was in such a good mood, staff lovely and I could easily come here every weekend if given the chance! Tables for what they call the "bar" are first come first served. We arrived at noon and there was quite alot of room left, but by 12.30-1 lines were starting to form, so get there earlier rather than later.
Also available to reserve in advance (far far far in advance) are picnic tables with BBQs, where you can shuck and BBQ your own oysters as well as bring what ever else you and your friends would like to eat and drink. However, when I perused the online booking site there wasnt a single weekend between now and October that has any availability. And while initially disapointed, there was no difference in atmosphere, i'm pretty sure you can bring your own wine and drinks to the bar area too, as I saw a family had done so next to us, and there's a significantly reduced chance of a severed hand when you leave the shucking to professionals (especially after one too many Sancerres in the sun!)
